Welcome to North Star Elementary
Welcome Back From Principal Sheena Stefanich

It is with great excitement that I begin this school year as the principal of both Parkview Elementary and, for the first time, North Star Elementary. I am honored to expand my role and become part of the North Star community—a place already known for its commitment to excellence, strong relationships, and student success. I’m eager to continue the great work that’s already happening here and to build meaningful connections with each of you.
As we open our doors to a new year, I’m thrilled to see so many familiar faces and just as excited to welcome new students and families who are joining us. North Star has a strong tradition of academic achievement, student leadership, and a warm, welcoming school culture. Together, we will continue on the path of excellence by encouraging our students to take responsibility for their learning and actions, while striving to be their very best.
We are proud to offer a well-rounded education in a state-of-the-art facility, where students are supported academically, socially, and emotionally. Our amazing staff has been hard at work preparing classrooms that are safe, engaging, and full of opportunities to challenge and inspire every learner.
Community involvement continues to be a vital part of our success. We deeply value the partnership between school and home and look forward to collaborating with you to support your child’s growth. Whether it’s volunteering, attending events, or staying connected through conversations at home, your involvement makes a lasting impact.
I feel incredibly fortunate to lead such an outstanding school community and am excited for what lies ahead. Here’s to a joyful, productive, and inspiring year for all of us at North Star!
Sincerely,
Sheena Stefanich

Walk/Self-Transport Zone
The Rock Ridge School Board approved the outlined self-transport zone around North Star Elementary in Virginia. With the guidance of routing consultants and administration, students residing within the boundary will walk or self-transport to the new North Star Elementary. The reason for this self transport zone is to address bus driver shortages that are being experienced in the district.
- The west side of the boundary will run from 8th St. So. to Chestnut St. along 9th Ave. So.
- The north side of the boundary will run from 9th Ave. So. to 2nd Ave. So. along Chestnut St.
- The east side of the boundary will run from Chestnut St. to 8th St. So. along 2nd Ave. So.
- The south side of the boundary will run from 2nd Ave. So. to 9th Ave. So. along 8th St. So.
